OuR AnCeStOr BiRtHdAy PaRtY

About once a year, for family home evening, we host an ancestor birthday party. Everybody chooses a ancestor that they look up a few facts about, and if possible dress up as. It's pretty fun, we have a cake and everything. It's pretty neat to tell stories and learn about the people we are related to, and are a part of our lives even if their not really around. Here's a list of who everybody was (I promise I chose an ancestor as well- I just wasn't in the picture!)
*Luke- George Washington(the 1st president one, founding father) He is a great, great, umm great uncle. He doesn't actually have any direct descendants because he had no children, but were related his brother Charles Washington.
*Emma- Joseph Gregson-Uncle Joe. This is Emma's favorite uncle, who is not even dead! But anyways he's a pretty awesome uncle, who makes tasty peach ice cream, and who we love a lot.
*Lily- Annie Cora Fuller; our great great grandma that liked to use a switch and was the first family member to join the church (on that side of the family)
*Clari- Mamie Gregson; great great aunt
*Grace- Rachel Mahala Loveless; joined the church in its early days and lived in Nauvoo.
*Mollie- Minnie Buhler Bandley; Came from Switzerland all by herself, married a handsome guy (as Mollie said it),had 10 children and raised them all by herself while he went on a mission back to Switzerland!
*Dad- George Washington Williams; was married twice and had mostly girls by his 1st life and mostly boys with the 2nd wife...
*Mom- Florence Bean Sumner; Great great grandma, was widowed with three little children- taught them to work hard.
