I'm just a little behind- but Lily's birthday was the 5th and hopefully she had a blast:) She wanted a red velvet cake... And Lily is officialy a teenager!! (teenager #3 in the house-parents are so excited;))
One day we got together with some friends and went swimming in a lake! It was fun and cooler;P! People in the pic: Grace, Emma, Lily, Luke, Mika, Hunter, Connor, and McCord:)
I think one of the best times we have had all summer is when the cousins were here. We didn't do much but hang around the house (and maybe go the movies a couple times) but there was definantly a lot of just fun stuff going on. And now they are in Atlanta so they'll be even closer :)! P.S. Now we are just waiting for you, Grandma and Papa Barne's.
One of our friends was moving this summer and they had a pet turtle, named Rocky. Rocky was unable to go with them on the long drive so now we have a pet turtle, named Rocky! He seems pretty harmless- but he will bite if your finger is close enough. He just swims around in his little tank and eats- thankfully he does not smell!!
On one of these lovely hot Alabama days our electricity went out for a couple hours. And when the electricity is off so is the air conditioner! We decided that it might just be cooler or at least less stifling outside than inside so we enjoyed a pretty summer afternoon outside. We did a little boxing (I'm not quite sure where we got the boxing gloves..), jump rope, AND tug of war! It was a good way to spend the afternoon- participating or just watching in the shade.
To Papa: Thank you so much for my birthday cake! It was beautiful and fit my sweet 16 birthday perfectly! It was one of my favorite yet. Thank you so much. Miss you! Wish you were here. Love Grace
Okay, more pictures :) These include some of my guest.. Do some look wet to you? That's because they were-the water balloons got a little out of hand and I got put in the little water pool(not part of the plan)!! That is why I look kind of scary and wet in my pictures! There is my beautiful and tasty all chocolate cake. And then there is one of me unrolling a roll of toilet paper-it was a genius present that I got that had money(!!) rolled up in it- it had me a little confused at first but I figured it out sooner or later...
My actual birthday is on Thursday, July 8th-but since I was having several friends being gone at that time I already had my Sweet 16! And it was a blast! So here are a few pictures of the decorations and before the party! My cousin Shauna came down and helped tremendously with the decorations! The yard looked fabulous and the whole luau theme rocked :)
Last week, Mom and Clari participated in Stake Primary Activity Day Camp. The girls learned about following the Savior. They had a modest fashion show and learned about eating right, listening to good music and planning Family Home Evening. The girls had a great time, Mom was tired and glad it was over.
I have become the dedicated "blogger" for the family, but this is not just my blog-it's a family blog. And i'll be sure and share everyone's secrets. There a total of eight people and two dogs in my family (and two horses if you ask Emma). We love to do lots of outdoorsy stuff and like treats a lot. We are also a big fan of Auburn football and Pride and Predjudice...
